Welcome to Touchstones
Touchstones Discussion Project is a non-profit education organization that teaches people essential communication, thinking, and leadership skills. Our discussion-based programs are developed and implemented with learners of all ages and walks of life. From elementary school grades through professional executive adults, participants in Touchstones programs improve their skills in speaking, active listening, critical and reflective thinking, problem solving, and collaboration. Touchstones discussion leaders and participants alike learn to work with others in ways that enhance and broaden their own knowledge and understanding, leading to a more inclusive and respectful community and society.
Since our start in 1984, more than 5,000,000 people in 47 countries have benefitted from Touchstones programs, and our reach grows to include tens of thousands of new participants each year. Using a train-the-leader and train-the-teacher approach delivered through proven and engaging program materials, educators and other practitioners implement Touchstones successfully in many different educational and community settings. In addition, we offer workshops and coaching that further support discussion leader development and program outcomes.
