Our programs, workshops, and events are open to anyone aiming to strengthen their skills as a discussion participant or leader. Virtual and in-person programs and trainings are offered throughout the year. Trainings range from shorter webinars to multi-day workshops, to help you get started and further develop your skills. Completion of all three levels of Touchstones training can lead to a Certificate in Discussion Leadership.

If you missed our back-to-school workshop, don't worry! This introductory workshop offers ample hands-on practice in Touchstones discussion leadership. Expert trainers engage participants first-hand in exploring barriers to participation, how to foster cooperative learning and active listening, and the benefits of collaborative leadership in the classroom. You'll learn and apply strategies and tools for building more student-centered, civil, and inclusive discussions right away.
This workshop is ideal for any teacher who is already using Touchstones programs, just getting started, or who is interested in experiencing our transformative approach to teaching and learning. You'll come away understanding how Touchstones classes one class period a week effectively facilitate active learning, critical thinking, increased self-awareness, and a greater sense of responsibility to others.
