An Evening to Remember!

Mapping the Future: A celebration for Howard Zeiderman on his retirement from the Touchstones staff

The Great Hall, MacDowell Hall on the campus of St. John’s College, Annapolis

As Howard Zeiderman, co-founder and lead program creator of the Touchstones Discussion Project, retires from the staff, the Touchstones Board of Directors invites you to join them in recognizing Howard’s extraordinary contributions to the field of education. This special evening features guest speakers who will share how Howard’s work and commitment to democratic and equitable engagement in education have shaped their personal and professional lives.

In addition, the 2025 Touchstones Teachers of the Year and our Volunteer of the Year will speak to how the Touchstones approach to discussion-based teaching and learning fosters authentic connections, community, and collaborative leadership among students of all ages and backgrounds.

Special features during this fun and celebratory night include an art raffle and a special auction, with all proceeds supporting the development and implementation of Touchstones programs in new school, community, and organizational sites at a time when Touchstones skills are needed—by each of us—more than ever before.
