The Touchstones approach to building seminar skills in all students is also a valuable tool for faculty development. It broadens their pedagogical repertoire and prepares them for the actual work of implementing a seminar format in their classrooms. Touchstones offers one-day and weekend-long workshops for college faculty and administrators. The processes associated with building a group in which all perspectives are heard is also helpful in retreats and strategic planning. Here are a few examples of this type of work and Touchstones application.

Seasoned faculty used the opportunity to reflect on issues of dynamics in their classrooms and deepen their seminar skills, while newer faculty members experienced the power of collaborative and inclusive discussion as a teaching tool.
